We clean houses across the Shawnee area
Our home base is Shawnee, and we drive out to the towns and country roads around it.
Shawnee is home base, and most of our work is a short drive from it. That covers Tecumseh and Bethel Acres close by, McLoud and Seminole a little farther out, and Newalla and Harrah over in Oklahoma County. The houses change from town to town, and so does the cleaning they need.
Older houses in Shawnee take more time
Shawnee has plenty of older houses near downtown, with wood trim, deep window sills and original floors. They take longer to clean than a newer house the same size, because there are more edges for dust to sit on. We plan the visit around that instead of rushing it.
Red dirt and wind get into every house
The soil across this part of Oklahoma is red clay, and it comes in on boots and on the dog. It stains grout at the doorways and gets ground into the carpet where people walk in.
Spring wind adds its own layer, blowing fine dust and pollen through window screens and onto every sill and ceiling fan blade. So we dust the fans before we touch the floors below them, and the entryways get extra time.
Country homes bring in more dirt
Out toward Bethel Acres and Newalla, a lot of homes sit on acreage, with long drives and animals going in and out all day. The back door and the laundry room take the worst of it, so those floors get scrubbed rather than just swept.
